Tripura director-general of police Akhil Kumar Shukla said they will step up security across the state where more than 2,000 Puja pandals have been set up.

“Security has been beefed up across the state. Police personnel and paramilitary forces have been deployed. We have kept the paramilitary forces in readiness to deal with emergencies,” the DGP said, reports The Morung Express.

He added that the installation of CCTV cameras is under way across the state.
