He added: “My government is working on how the society can take benefits at the direction of Narendra Bhai Modi. I have only one aim that is to develop Tripura in three years time. I won’t say it will be transformed to a golden Tripura but it will be a corruption-free and drugs-free, which is my commitment. Other than this, employment will be created through tourism and other departments. Tripura is moving in that direction and the people of the State wanted me to do that.”
Earlier, the CM during a press conference announced CBI investigation into 74 non-banking financial institutions, popularly known as chit fund.
The central investigation agency had earlier accepted to investigate cases against 11 major chit fund companies including Rose Valley which according to the former Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha and as per his Assembly statement, the chit fund companies duped the people of Tripura of Rs 35,000 crore.
Deb also said that on April 19 last the State government had referred 63 more cases of chit fund companies.
The CM alleged that due to the indulgence of the previous Left Front government, chit fund companies could mushroom in Tripura but the present government believes in ‘Bhrastata Mukta Tripura’ and has zero tolerance on corruption.
Two days back, two former ministers of Tripura were grilled by the CBI in the Rose Valley scam.
