Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha made a compassionate visit to Lembutali village in the Kamalasagar assembly constituency of Sepahijala District on Monday, assessing the devastation caused by the cyclone.
During his visit, Dr. Saha pledged unwavering support to the affected residents, promising comprehensive assistance to help them recover from the calamity.
Accompanied by local administrative officials, the Chief Minister toured the storm-stricken areas, personally engaging with affected families to assure them of government aid.
The cyclone, which struck the state in the early hours of Sunday, inflicted significant damage to numerous households across the region.
Despite his hectic schedule owing to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Saha prioritized visiting the affected regions, recognizing the urgency of the situation.
“The reported damage across the state is merely the visible aspect of the crisis. Countless families, not only here but in various parts of the state, are grappling with the aftermath. Many have lost their homes,” stated Dr. Saha, emphasizing the need for immediate action.
He directed administrative authorities to utilize the Disaster Management fund effectively, ensuring swift assistance to the affected populace. Additionally, he urged solidarity from citizens towards the afflicted families during this perilous period.
Joining the Chief Minister were MLA Antara Sarkar Dev and other dignitaries, alongside officials, demonstrating collective support for the storm-affected communities.
