Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday visited the worst hit areas in the west district and interacted with the displaced people in Monday’s thunderstorm.
Hundreds of families have been displaced and rendered homeless throughout Tripura due to storm that lashed the state on Monday morning.

Later interacting with media, Deb said that the administration has arranged for food, water, shelter and medical check-up arrangement s for the victims.
He also announced that those families which have lost their houses totally shall get Rs 95,000 each.
An initial help of Rs 5,000 each to all victim families has been already been dispatched, the Chief Minister added.
The victim families expressed their satisfaction on the arrangements made by the administration and thanked the Chief Minister and his team for enquiring about them.
Notably, at least six people have been injured and over 200 people rendered homeless when squall accompanied by heavy shower hit some part of west district on Monday.
The gusty storm has also caused extensive damage to transmission lines leading to power cuts in different locations for hours.
Around 130 families were shifted to Chandmari High School immediately after the storm hit the locality. Relief materials were also being distributed among the storm hit victims.
Power supply to some areas- Lichubagan, Nutannagar, Durjoynagar, Bholagiri and GB Bazar is yet to be restored even as TSECL engineers and staff are working on war footing to restore power supply.
