Along with the whole nation, the people in Tripura also took to the streets in celebration on Tuesday after the central government declared that it carried out air strikes inside Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) killing more than two hundred militants in a training camp.

It has been termed as a resounding response by the Indian military to the Pulwama terrorist attack.

The celebration started after reports starting flashing of Indian air force jets during the wee hours had hit training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), the militant group that claimed for the suicide attack at Pulwama in Kashmir on CRPF troopers killing 44 on February 14 last.

Hundreds of youths with the tricolour, smoke-sticks and photos of Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitaraman raised ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and other patriotic slogans in support of the strike.

College students also brought out processions in support of the air strike on suspected militant camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

In the evening, BJP Mahila Morcha organised a programme of lighting candles in which the state Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb also took part.

They celebrated air strike on Tuesday in which 12 Mirage-2000 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crossed into Pakistani airspace and carried out a series of bombings on terror launch pads, killing over 200 militants in the terror launch pads across the Line of Control in Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad sectors beside devastating JeM control rooms.
