In a significant twist to the tale ahead of ensuing Assembly elections in the State, the autopsy report of Madhusudhan Deb, a booth president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Ramnagar assembly constituency,  is stated as ‘suicidal in nature’ by hanging.

The post-mortem report of late Madhusudhan Deb, conducted by four doctors of G B Pant Hospital in Agartala state that the ‘cause of death is asphyxia as a result of ante-mortem hanging, which is suicidal in nature,’ according to highly placed sources.

The death had further escalated the verbal war between the ruling Left Front and the BJP with the saffron brigade crying foul and accusing the CPI-M of ‘killing’ the party worker.

Regarding the cut injuries found in the body of Madhushudhan Deb, the post-mortem report stated to have found ‘some animal or insects bite’ in the body.

The post mortem report is already in the possession of the state police.

Madhusudhan Deb ,a booth president of BJP under Ramnagar assembly constituency was missing since Saturday from his home at Joynagar area of Agartala. He was found hanging at Panchabati area of Barjala, the next day.

The BJP immediately pounced on the situation claiming Deb was killed by CPI-M supporters and created a ruckus by staging a noisy demonstration in front of police headquarters in Agartala with the body.
