The CPI-M in its booklet ‘Tripura Model where interests of people get priority’ mentioned, “The principal of federalism is being attacked by the direct and indirect patronage given by the Central Government to the extremist elements in Tripura against an elected Government in opposition to the Central Government. The extremist elements had direct contact with the PMO and held talks with the Minister of State in the PMO and this was followed by a violent agitation when they returned to the State.”

BJP state president speaking to reporters said, “The CPI-M campaign booklet is unconstitutional, anti-national and misleading and it should be banned. In the fourth page the booklet mentions that the PMO has direct link with the militants. The BJP demands that the Tripura government should immediately ban and seize this booklet for the sake of the nation.”

He also viewed that there were several other baseless and derogatory allegations it that booklet.

Ratanlal Nath who had recently migrated from Congress to BJP said, “A government is working here, for how many days it may be in power, it should immediately ban this booklet and arrest the writer and publisher.”

The booklet was published in English by the CPI-M central committee in October and was translated into Bengali and published two days back here.

Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly and senior CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar accepting the BJP allegations said, “It is nothing new, the same words we have narrated earlier also…….the PMO office is directly involved with this type of anti-national elements.”

He was referring to the national highway blockade in the mid of this year done by the INPT (NC section) demanding separate tribal state. According to him the blockade was organised by the militants.

BJP youths have organised protest against the CPI-M here and demanded immediate withdrawal of the booklet and viewed that the Communists are encouraging anti-national elements.
