The Election Department of Tripura has started a mammoth exercise across the State to complete the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls and the final publication of electoral roll to be published on January 4, 2019.

Interacting with media at the conference hall of Election department in  Agartala on Monday, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti said that the process of intensive preparation for special summary revision had already started through cascaded training of officers from last month.

He said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) will start the rationalization of polling stations along with physical verification of all polling stations across the state from June 21 to July 31 next.

He further disclosed that for making an error free electoral roll, the booth level officers (BLOs) has started house to house field verification from May 15 and it will continue up to June 20 next.

In this regard, the State Election Department had already conducted all political party meeting and recorded opinions of representatives of political parties.

Giving details of the ECI’s different exercise for preparation of summary rolls, the CEO added that updating of control tables, preparation of supplements, integration and preparation of draft electoral rolls to start from August 1 and will continue up to August 31.

The publication of integrated draft electoral roll would be held on September 1 and a time-frame for filing claims and objections will be held between September 1 to October 31.
