Imphal: Three active cadres of proscribed underground People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak —Progressive (PREPAK-PRO) involved in extortion activities were arrested, the police morning report said on Wednesday.
Three mobile phones, a two-wheeler vehicle, and other incriminating articles have been recovered from their possession.

Based on intelligence input from its sources that a group of armed men were trying to collect money for the general people, Manipur police launched an operation at Chingmeirong Maning Leikai, Nepali Basti near the Manipur Legislative Assembly in Imphal west district on Tuesday afternoon.
The operation successfully yielded the arrests of three Prepak cadres and the seizure of some items.
The arrested persons were later identified as Wangkhem Rohit Singh (25), Yensembam Nepolian Singh (27), and Suraj Ayam (20).

The arrested cadres along with the seized items have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal actions, the report added.
