“We promptly arrived at the scene and detained three individuals. During initial questioning, they confessed to being Bangladeshi nationals. We brought them to the police station and, upon searching them, found both Indian and Bangladeshi currency, as well as a mobile phone. They had entered India illegally, having come from Comilla, Bangladesh, and crossed into Tripura through the Sonamura Sub-division in Tripura’s Sepahijala district,” Sen stated.
The officer added that the individuals first went to Agartala Railway Station but, finding no available trains, proceeded to the Chandrapur ISBT.
“They were headed to Punjab in search of work. We will present them in court to seek police remand. The individuals have been identified as Md. Noor Mohammad, Md. Abdulla, and Astamul Hasna,” he added.
