Four bikers from Thane, Mumbai will be riding across Sikkim this month to promote road safety. Ride4India, an umbrella organization of bike riders in Mumbai, will be supporting this cause.

The organization has conducted various road safety activities with the Thane Traffic Police in the past.

Riders will be travelling for 15 days across Sikkim and visit various schools and colleges to promote road safety. The ride will be flagged off by east district SP Tenzing Loden Lepcha.

“Such initiatives will definitely help in creating awareness among the youth and create a safe driving experience for everyone on the road,” said Tenzing Loden Lepcha.  Thane RTO Jitendra Patil has also shown support for the ride.

The four riders, namely, Bijoy Joseph, Dharma Kotian, Dinesh Samuel and John D’Souza have done similar rides across India in the past. “Riding is our passion, and, promoting safe riding is our duty. Every rider must take up the responsibility to make our roads a safer place,” said Bijoy.
