Guwahati: The fifth meeting of the Task Force for the Development of Tourism in Northeast states was convened at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday.
In the meeting, the discussion centred on different strategies for capacity building, training policies, marketing and promotion efforts for the development of tourism in Northeastern states.

Attendees included officials from the eight Northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
The event also had representatives from various ministries, i.e. Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and other private partners.
New strategies were chalked out to increase tourism in the northeast part of the country.
