The path yatra taken out from Arunachal Pradesh by the followers of the spiritual leader, 14th Dalai Lama, led by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause, a national level NGO based in New Delhi working for the cause of Tibet and Tibetans in India, arrived at Tezpur on Tuesday in the morning.
The Core Group for Tibetan Cause, which has completed its celebration of 60 years of the 14th Dalai Lama’s coming to India, organised the path yatra commemorating the 60th year of the 14th Dalai Lama’s journey from Tibet to India.

The Core Group for Tibetan Cause is an apex organization which coordinates with 214 Tibet support groups all over the country.
The 400 km symbolic foot march started on March 17 last from Arunachal Paredsh’s Chhuthangmo area as a courtesy to India for giving shelter to the spiritual leader, 14th Dalai Lama, 60 years back, arrived at Tezpur on Tuesday in the morning.
The group, which was received at the historic Mahabhairab Temple here and honoured with warm welcome by various organizations including Tezpur RSS and BJP, visited the historic Siva Temple and offered puja.

During their march, the group passed through the areas adjacent to the Indo-Tibet border like Kenzamani, Zemithang, Lumla, Tawang, Bomdila, Deomari, etc. and then arrived at Tezpur on Tuesday after long 10 days of their journey. The group comprises more than 60 members including their leaders including Ganga Tuluk Rinpoche, Guru Thuptan Rinpoche and Jampa Tsering.
Headed by RK Khrimey, member of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause, New Delhi, who is also a member of the National Foundation for Communal Harmony, the group later held a meeting in the District Library here wherein the group expressed their views on the long march.
Revealing the past history, Ganga Tuluk Rinpoche mentioned that the Dalai Lama left Lhasa on March 17 night in 1959 with four of his Cabinet ministers along with some attendants and bodyguards and his family members.
“After a long and dangerous journey they entered India through Khenzimane in Zemithang circle of Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh for receiving shelter and good hospitality from the Indian government,” he said adding, Chhuthangmo is about 160 km from Tawang district headquarters and 520 km from Tezpur where the Core Group for Tibetan Cause is going to organize the celebration marking the completion of 60 years of the great spiritual leader 14th Dalai Lama’s coming to India.
The programme marked as the closing of the long foot march is christened as ‘Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch’ and is supported by Tawang Monastery and NGOs of Tawang in West Kameng and Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the programme, briefing the media, Tibetan religious Guru Tuluk Rinpoche alleged that the people living in Tibet, which is under the Chines occupation, have been suffering a lot of tragedies. “Due to Chinese domination our education, culture and religion have been hampered,” he alleged adding that with the support of the Indians, every peace loving people across the globe should work together for the freedom of Tibet.
Rinpoche also vehemently condemned China for their time to time attack on India.
