Sweta Tapan Choudhury, becomes the first women from Assam, to compete in MasterChef UK series 14. She is the first Assamese who has competed in the show.
She reached the quarter finals of the show, telecast on BBC One.
Originally from Guwahati, she currently lives in London. She is currently studying for a PHD in Politics and International Relations at King’s College London.

MasterChef UK is a food reality show which focuses on finding United Kingdom’s best food talent through a series of cooking challenges.
The shows judges are Gregg Wallace, John Torode.
The show has four formats: MasterChef, MasterChef: The Professionals, Celebrity MasterChef and Junior MasterChef.
The first MasterChef premiered in 1990 and has now gone on to become of the most successful shows in the world and brought laurels to the country.
