Two suspected Bangladesh citizens were arrested in Agartala on Tuesday by Mobile Task Force (MTF) and later handed over to the West Agartala Police.

Police during search and interrogation found Indian Aadhaar cards and Bangladesh passport beside Indian and Bangladeshi currency notes and mobile phones from the possession of these two individuals.

Both informed that they were studying in madrassa in Deuband of Uttar Pradesh and entered Tripura by flight from Kolkata.

They have been identified as Kaiser Ahamed of Brahmanbaria and TIjul Islam of Narshindi in Bangladesh.

Notably, last month 24 Bangladeshi citizens who also claimed to be studying in madrassas in Uttar Pradesh were caught in the State.

Meanwhile, a team from National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrived in the State to interrogate them.
