Besides demanding the resignation of Home Minister Kumar Waii, the protestors demanded early solution to the mysterious deaths of Late Yame, Modi, Tayeng and Pinch.
Addressing the gathering at the Tennis Court in Indira Gandhi Park, the place where the rally culminated, Ngurang Reena, the daughter of Late Pinch said that it’s been a year since the mysterious death of her father, but the authorities concerned are still clueless about the case.
“Despite repeated calls and requests the State’s Chief Minister is also silent and ignorant on the case,” she said while adding that even the CBI is not interested in cracking the case.

Reena also informed that a letter seeking the appointment of MoS for Home Affairs has already been forwarded but the minister is yet to respond.
Late Pinch’s lifeless body was found in the confluence of Popum and Pare rivers under mysterious circumstances on November 18 last year.
Pinch was believed to have drowned in the river where he had gone on a rafting expedition with a group. His family has, however, been terming the death as a “pre-planned political murder.”
Khoda Yame, father of late Toko Yame said that not even a charge sheet has been filed by the Police Department in the court despite passing of more than a year.
Yame, a class 12 student of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Tawang had gone missing after a scuffle involving students of the GHSS and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Tawang on September 16 last year. His semi-decomposed body was found a week later at the Biga waterfall, near JNV in the district, on September 23.
The family members of Late Taying, the former finance secretary of the All East Siang District Students’ Union and Arun Modi, a 5th Semester student of Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC), Tezu also had a similar story to tell.
Taying was brutally attacked by some unidentified miscreants in Itanagar on the fateful night of June 10 last year. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries a few days later at the GNRC in Guwahati.
The body of Arun Modi, who had gone missing was later recovered by the local police from a water tank near Botanical Garden at Tezu on September. All the cases are unsolved till date.
