The First Lady of the State, wife of the Arunachal Pradesh Governor, exhorted the craftsmen, instructors and trainees to promote the traditional designs with innovation to add value to the traditionally produced articles. She also exhorted them for returning the intricate and time-honoured weaving designs with beads and silk threads.
She said, “Weaving, woodcarving and carpet making are there in our State in almost every household. It goes to our native expertise that our household produces quality items but the artisans get only a fraction of the selling price for their products, which need efforts to cut the unjustified middle links over heads.”
