Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh appealed to all to cooperate with the government for development of the state. He was addressing the Statehood Day celebration at Manipur Rifles parade ground in Manipur on Sunday.
The chief minister said his government has kept doors wide open for all the organisations for talks and discussions. He urged all not to resort to bandh or general strike to air their grievances and instead approach the government.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also said harassing or kidnapping officials for ransom stalls developmental activities.
Speaking on the occasion of Statehood Day celebration, the chief minister said that the government had taken serious note of the twin blasts which occurred near M-Sector on Kanglapat road on January 15 this year.
He further said that he had already apprised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh of the incident during his last New Delhi visit.

The Chief Minister also urged the people not to criticise any community or religion which may incite enmity among different communities. He also appealed to the political parties not to provoke hatred and create division among people for the sake of politics.
He said it is essential to run the government in a transparent and responsible manner in order to accelerate development. The state government has not only set up an Anti-Corruption Police Station and Anti-Corruption Cell but also opened Grievances Redressal Cell.
The Anti-Corruption Cell of CM’s Secretariat has received more than 500 complaints, he said adding that action had been initiated in 165 cases so far.
