With less than 24 to go for counting of votes, Meghalaya is taking no chances of any glitches when the EVMs will be opened on Saturday morning for deciding the fate of 361 candidates in the Assembly elections, polling of which went off on Tuesday.
Interacting with media on the side-lines of inspecting the preparedness for the counting day, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Meghalaya, F R Kharkongkor disclosed that all the ground work have been completed and that the counting would be a smooth process.

Counting for as many as 15 constituencies will take place at the Polo Grounds in Shillong.
Counting of votes for two seats each will be held in Sohra or popularly known as Cherapunjee and Mairang.
Meanwhile, the state police force has made elaborate arrangement to ensure that no untoward situation arises during counting of votes.
