Stage set for ceremonial swearing-in of first BJP-led government in Tripura

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah arrived in Agartala on Thursday afternoon for the ceremonial swearing-in of the first BJP-led government in Tripura.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held later on Friday at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala which is expected to be a grand affair.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his ministerial colleagues, senior party leaders and most of the 21 Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled states of the country are expected to attend the swearing-in of state BJP chief and Chief Minister of the State in-waiting Biplab Kumar Deb and his council of ministers.

Earlier, Shah was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by Biplab Deb, ‘Pravari’ Sunil Deodhar and party vice presidents, Pratima Bhowmik and Jishnu Debbarman.

It was ceremonial parade as the BJP national president took his journey from the airport to the State Guest House as people in large numbers gathered on both sides of the road and chanted slogans.

Amit Shah arrived early to oversee the preparations for the grand swearing-in ceremony and also finalize the ministry of the BJP led government which already has a pre-poll alliance with Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).

The BJP national president later held series of discussions with party leaders, elected MLAs and IPFT representatives and its elected MLAs over the nuances of formation of the ministry.

People in large numbers and party workers have already started arriving at the Assam Rifles Ground where the swearing-in ceremony will be held in a short while from now.
