Arunachal Predesh Chief Secretary Satya Gopal on Wednesday said that the ‘Staff Selection Board’ (SSB) of the State Government would bring in a revolutionary change in the recruitment process of the State and will transform the State’s governance in the years to come.
Addressing the commissioners and secretaries of the State Government during a meeting held in regards to SSB and on requisition of vacancies available in various departments at his office here, Gopal said that recruitment through SSB will also fulfill the mandate of the State Government which stands for ‘complete transparency, merit, and equal opportunity’.
Gopal informed the house that available vacancies may be intimated within a week’s time as the SSB needs to issue advertisements within the month of December as per the Government timelines.
“The rest of the processes shall also continue thereafter,” he said.
SSB chairman Dr Ashish Chandra Verma informed that the requisition form has been finalized and will accordingly be circulated to every department.
It was decided in the meeting that departments with Group ‘C’ vacancies should notify the SSB about the number of vacancies in the requisition form within a week’s time to start the recruitment process at the earliest.
SSB secretary Rahul Singh briefed the house on the rules and objectives of the Board. He informed that 10 examination centers have been identified across the State in which the examinations of the SSB would be conducted.
The Arunachal Pradesh Assembly had in June this year passed the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board Bill, 2018. The Bill accordingly paved the way for constitution of Staff Selection Board in the State. The Board aims to streamline the process of selection of candidates for all Group ‘C posts’ in the State government.
Though district wise quota will be given to candidates during the selection, however, the examination will be conducted by the SSB only.
