The Election Commission of India, has directed the Election officer of Dibrugarh on Tuesday to start a special drive to receive applications from elligible Indian citizens to enroll their names in the electoral rolls.

The Booth level officers will collect the information in the required format from door to door and distribute and collect form numbers 6, 6(a), 7 and 8 (wherever required) in the Chabua, Lahoal, Duliajan, Tingkhong, Moran and Naharkatia assembly constituencies till March 10 during the drive.

Simultaneously, as informed by the Election Officer, data of the voters of Dibrugarh along with four other assembly constituencies of Assam, will be collected through a special mobile app as a pilot project in the state.

For this purpose, training has already been given to Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth level observers and  Booth Level Officers.

Updated electoral rolls (voter list) of 7 assembly constituencies of Dibrugarh district has been published on 21st February,2018.
