Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today asserted that growing activities of the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) would be controlled with a firm hand and lambasted ‘influential forces’ that were instigating a section of youth to join the ranks of the militant organisation.
He was addressing a mammoth panchayat election rally at Kawoimari Potiapukuri near Tezpur , Sonowal vehemently criticised all the three main rival political parties – Congress, AGP and AIUDF – accusing them of having secret understanding.
“In the name of foreigners’ issue these influential forces (political parties) are creating chaos and confusion among the people,” Sonowal alleging that these forces have never done any good to Assam and its people. He also stated that ‘secret understanding’ of AGP with harmful forces like AIUDF and Congress, could never be a good sign for the future of the state.
“Harping on a baseless information about existence of one crore illegal foreigners in the state, these forces have been trying to create an unstable situation in the region,” Sonowal alleged.
Urging the people to cast their votes to the BJP in the panchayat poll, Sonowal said the BJP remained committed for the development of the common people and if it came to power in the Panchayati Raj system it would definitely deliver a good and transparent local self governance system.
With the electioneering for the first phase of panchayat election fast gathering steam momentum in the state , the Chief Minister Sonowal and Health and Finance minister, Dr Himanta Bishwa Sharma today addressed a series of election rallies in and around Tezpur.
In Tezpur, the state Health and Finance minister, Dr. Himanta Bishwa Sharma while addressing an election rally claimed that it was only the BJP that was capable of providing good governance. He alleged that AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmal was the common guardian of the AGP, AIUDF and Congress as on date.
