As per media reports, Salam Tamphasana Devi was found passing the BEd examination in 2005 in second class and in first class and her mark sheet produced before the Education Department was also found tampered after the college (DM College of Teacher Education, Imphal) records were checked. Moreover, the certificates and mark sheets of Higher Secondary Examination and High School Leaving Certificate Examination produced by Devi were also reportedly found ‘tempered’.

On the other hand, Haokip, who submitted a forged certificate of passing BEd examination in 2014 from DM College of Teacher Education, Imphal, was not a student of the college as per records of the college.
