The Directorate of Information and Public Relations and District Information and Public Relations, Sivasagar along with the journalists on Friday came together in observing the National Press Day at Yuva Dol here.
Participating at the event held on the occasion, Chief Minister’s Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami said, “Those people are respected and remembered who contributed for the welfare of society with devotion and sacrifice. A society develops because of their contributions. They remain as ideal by virtue of their dignity and works during their lifetime.”
Citing the examples of Socrates, Galileo, Martin Luthar King and Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Goswami said that the ideals and their works during their lifetime have left an immense impact and contributed towards the development of human civilization, and made them immortal in the hearts of masses.
Dr Abhijit Bora, HoD, Public Relations and Journalism Department, Tezpur University, while speaking on ‘Ethics of Journalism: Challenges in Digital Age,’ said that journalism in this digital era going through massive challenges.
“Journalistic challenges in the age of digital era can be overcome when both sides of the story are projected in proper perspectives before the viewers,” he added.
