A team of German are camping in the north-eastern state to film a documentary on organic farming.
The German team is led by comprising of Bernward Geier, director of a German organization extensively working on environmental issues, sustainability in all its facets with a focus on organic agriculture and food culture.
The other members of the team include Berndt Weltz, Birgit and Anna Buhler.

The team has visited the organic vegetable farm at Bul in South Sikkim and was known to have been overwhelmed by the initiative.
The filming of the documentary on organic farming has been done for Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), a German national television broadcaster and Planet E-TV.
The German film crew is ably assisted by filmmakers from Mumbai.
The team will also feature infrastructures, agronomic practices, livestock, on-farm input production activities with all ingredients, crop harvesting and inter-culture operation and standing crops, and interview progressive farmers, extension officers, etc in its documentary film.
The team will be visiting various other villages in Sikkim to cover allied activities related with organic farming, according to sources.
The documentary film will be telecast globally after its completion.
Sikkim became a complete organic state after banning import of inorganic products into the State on April 1 last.
Once the documentary film is completed and telecast worldwide, Sikkim’s endeavour towards organic farming is bound to get far more attention from environmentalists and those involved with food culture and organic farming worldwide.
