State-Level Special Olympics 2020 for children with special needs was held in Gangtok at West Point Senior Secondary School ground on Thursday.
The event was held under Inclusive Education for Children and was organized by Samaghra Shiksha under the state education department.
The main objective of the event was to provide a platform and an opportunity for special children to showcase their talents and bring them to the mainstream.
The day-long event witnessed various sporting events like blind cricket, boccia, football, assistance walk for blind and others.
Sikkim education minister Kunga Nima Lepcha was the chief guest and he was accompanied by the secretary of sports & youth affairs department Kuber Bhandari and other dignitaries.
Certificates and trophies were distributed to winners and the participants.
