Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) played two friendly cricket matches at West Point Senior Secondary School playground in Gangtok on Wednesday.

In the first match, a team of PCS has defeated a team of Tathangchen-based rehab centre, Freedom Facility by 26 runs. By winning the toss, PCS decided to bat first and scored a total of 179 runs in 15 overs. While chasing the target of 180 runs, Freedom Facility players were able to scored 153 runs in 15 overs and lost the match by 26 runs.

In the second match, another team of PCS was defeated by a team of West Point SSS teachers by 13 runs. After winning the toss, West Point SSS teacher’s team decided to bat first and gave the target of 153 to PCS. PCS team able to scored 140 runs in 15 over while chasing the target and lost the match by 13 runs.

These friendly matches were organized with the support of Sikkim Against Addition Towards Healthy India (SAATHI) cell of West Point SSS. It has to be mentioned here that PCS has been organizing different sporting events time to time for its members for recreation and to give them a healthy and sporting break from their monotonous daily routine.
