Sikkim Krantikari Morcha played role of responsible opposition, asserts Golay

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party president, P S Golay on Tuesday asserted that although SKM party had failed to form government in 2014 election, but worked effectively for the people of Sikkim.

He said that in last five years as a responsible opposition, the SKM party has raised demands of the people of Sikkim continuously in the State Government, state Assembly and at the Centre.

He was addressing the people from different constituencies of East District in his ongoing election campaign in the State at Ranipool Truck Stand on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by senior leaders and workers of the party and SKM candidates from different constituencies of East Sikkim.

In his short address, Golay accused SDF government for not working in the interest of the people of Sikkim during its 25 years of government in Sikkim. He alleged that after failing to work for the people and development of Sikkim, now SDF party and its president has been trying to buy people’s vote and asking the people to give one more chance.

He also accused the SDF government for ‘looting’ the State in these 25 years and suppressing the people’s voice.

Golay mentioned that seven defected MLAs of SKM party betrayed the trust of the people of Sikkim. He mentioned that out of these seven defectors now five are again contesting the election. He stressed that it was important for the people of Sikkim to think seriously on whether they should support these defectors again.

Golay stated that 2019 election is very important for Sikkim and its people to uproot the autocratic government of SDF party from the State. He appealed the party workers to reach out every house across the State with programmes and message of the SKM party.
