Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad on Wednesday celebrated Diwali with officers and jawans of the Black Cat Division of the Indian Army at Libing in Gangtok.
GOC Black Cat Division Major General N S Raja Subramani, officers and other ranks of the division were present on the occasion. The Governor distributed sweets and extended Diwali greetings to all present, according to an official press release.

In his speech, the Governor said it was due to the sacrifices made by the personnel of the armed forces that their countrymen get to celebrate festivals and other occasions with the utmost sense of security and peace.
Prasad added that the common folk should acknowledge the contributions of the armed forces in keeping the country safe.
Expressing his happiness to be among the members of the armed forces on the occasion, the Governor urged everyone to find time to celebrate festivals with the personnel of the armed forces who have prioritized country over self and family.

The Governor reached the Libing helipad after completing his three-day tour of North Sikkim.
