The International Olympic Committee and the Indian Olympic Association will be celebrating the Olympic Day on June 23 next.

Following the same, Sikkim Olympic Association has geared up for week-long celebration with different sporting activities in coordination with Sports and Youth Affairs Department to commemorate the Olympic Day.

The week-long celebration will include Olympic Run for All, Badminton, Boxing, Karate, Archery, Taekwondo and football tournaments.

The theme of this year Olympic Day is ‘Move Learn & Discover’ and the main objective of the celebration is to raise awareness among children of the sporting spirit by offering them the chance to practice different sports free of charge with the assistance and advice of professionals.

Sikkim Olympic Association president and members have urged school students, individuals and groups, senior citizens and members of all affiliated associations of SOA to voluntarily participate in the Olympic Day Run on June 23.

The run will be flagged off from Titanic Park in MG Marg at 6:30 pm.
