Sikkim Chief Minister’s ‘grand yatra’ concludes at Lingmoo

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on Saturday interacted with the public of Rangang-Yangang constituency at Lingmoo sharing about his government’s programmes and milestones, and took stock of the local requirements and demands.

Lingmoo marks the conclusion of the staggering phase-wise 32-day tour ‘Jan Sewa Jan Samman Yatra’ of the Chief Minister across the State.

Chamling had embarked on his tour on April 2 last starting from Kabi-Lungchok constituency in North Sikkim.

At every constituency, the Chief Minister was presented with local infrastructural demands including roads which he sanctioned before the gathering.

Speaking at Lingmoo, the Chief Minister countered the major allegations levelled against his Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) Government by the opposition political parties.

Chamling reiterated that the SDF government has given equal rights, respect and opportunities to all the communities of Sikkim.

The Chief Minister alleged that more than 1,000 agents of outside force are politically active in Sikkim and ‘trying to break the peace, security and brotherhood’ in the State.

He asked all the chairpersons, panchayats, councilors and party committee functionaries to prepare for the upcoming elections.

The Chief Minister highlighted the diverse amalgamation of infrastructure expansion such as establishment of Sikkim University, road up-gradation that has been brought about in Rangang- Yangang and Lingmoo respectively.

He also spoke in detail the comprehensive progress which the general public will gain after the building of Sikkim University and Skywalk project at Bhaleydhunga in Yangang.

Chamling emphasized that Rangang-Yangang is one of the most developing constituencies in Sikkim.

The Chief Minister stated that the State government has given special focus throughout the years in the education sector.

He also appraised the students to avail free technical education in institutions such as CCCT Chisopani, ATTC Bardang and also in various colleges located in the state.

Speaking on organic farming sector, the Chief Minister highlighted that organic farming can provide a golden opportunity in terms of economic possibilities.

He brought to light the list of banned non-organic vegetables and advocated the progressive farmers of the area to focus on cultivating organic vegetables in order to be self-sufficient.
