Sikkim Krantikari Morcha president, who is also the chief minister P S Golay filed his nomination for Poklok-Kamrang constituency in South Sikkim for upcoming by-election in the State.

He submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer (South), Ragul K on the last day of the filing the nomination on Monday.

He got the clean chit from the Election Commission of India on Sunday to contest the election after reduced his disqualification period to one year and one month.

Other nominations filed for Poklok-Kamrang are Kharka Bahadur Rai from Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, Moses Rai from Sikkim Democratic Front and Yadhu Kumar Rai from Sikkim Republican Party.

Likewise, 14 nominations were filed for Martam-Rumtek and Gangtok constituencies in East Sikkim on the last day of the filing nomination for upcoming by-election.

Candidates have filed their nominations at the office of the returning officer (East), Raj Yadav.

Out of 14 nominations, eight were filed for Martam-Rumtek and six nominations were received for Gangtok.

Nuk Tshering Bhutia from SDF, Sonam Tshering Venchungpa from Bharatiya Janata Party, Mingma Tshering Sherpa from SRP, Nima Lepcha from Hamro Sikkim Party and Passang G Sherpa, Sonam Tashi Bhutia, Mechung Bhutia and Chewang Dadul Bhutia as Independent candidates filed nomination for Martam Rumtek constituency.

Likewise, Delay Namgyal Barfungpa from Sikkim Nationalist Peoples Party, Yomg Tshering Lepcha from BJP, Rinzing Ongmu Bhutia from SDF, Song Tshering Lepcha from SRP, Bhaichung Bhutia from HSP and Karma Yenthen Chankapa as Independent candidate filed their nomination for Gangtok constituency.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on Tuesday at 11 am in the office of the returning officers.
