The C division football league of Sikkim Football Association was kicked off here at Paljor Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Young Boys Academy, Gyalshing and Sasosians Football Club have started their  campaign with victories. SFA president, Menla Ethenpa graced the inaugural day of the league as the chief guest.

In the inaugural match on Wednesday, Young Boys Academy registered an easy victory by thrashing JVC Singtam 7-0. Santosh Limboo scored four goals for Young Boys Academy in the 46th, 59th, 67th and 70th minute, while his teammates Pritam Sunam (57th), Sushil Limboo (63rd) and Bishwa Darjee (89th) scored one goal each for the team.

Sasosians FC outplayed Sumin Football Club 2-0 in the second match of the day. Pema Wangchuk scored in the 57th minute and Bishal Tamang in the 90th minute for Sasosians FC.

Twelve clubs have been registered this time in the C division league. Other participating teams are Chujachen Sports Academy, Ranipool Football Club, Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club, Kumar Sporting Club, Nimtar Football Club, Sikkim Boys Football Club, Dzongri Football Club and Young Orchid.

On Thursday, the first match will be played between Ranipool FC and Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club and in another match Nimtar FC will take Sikkim Boys FC.

SFA president also handed over the certificates of Santosh Trophy 2018 to members of the state team.
