GANGTOK: Biraj Adhikari, a senior figure in Sikkim politics and former spokesperson of the Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP), breathed his last at the Central Referral Hospital (Manipal) on Thursday (March 07).

Adhikari, aged 63, had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since February.

In a condolence message, the Sikkim chief minister expressed, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Biraj Adhikari this morning at Central Referral Hospital-SMIMS, Tadong after a prolonged illness.”
