GANGTOK: Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, on Monday (June 10), took oath as the chief minister of Sikkim for a second consecutive term.
The oath taking ceremony was held at the Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, Sikkim.
Sikkim governor Lakshman Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to PS Tamang-Golay and his council of ministers during the swearing-in ceremony at Paljor stadium in Gangtok.
During a meeting of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) on June 02, Tamang was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislature party, paving the way for his second term as chief minister.
The swearing-in ceremony, was attended by around 30,000 people, including SKM supporters.
Notably, the SKM bagged 31 of the 32 seats in the recently held assembly elections in Sikkim.
On the other hand, the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) won one seat.
