Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer NK Mishra has taken over charge as the new director general of Sikkim police (DGP).
Mishra was given the additional charge of DGP by the Sikkim government.
NK Mishra took charge as Sikkim DGP on Wednesday.
“NK Mishra (SK: 1988) currently posted as SDGP, Home Guards & Civil Defence shall hold the additional charge of Director General of police, Sikkim in addition to his own responsibilities w.e.f 01/12/2021,” an order from the Sikkim department of personnel read.

NK Mishra is posted as the Sikkim special DGP (Home Guards and Civil Defence).
A 1988-batch IPS officer, AK Mishra had earlier served as special director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) on deputation.
The Centre in February this year approved empanelment of NK Mishra for DG-level posts.
Mishra was repatriated to his parent cadre (Sikkim) earlier in November.
