The members of the executive committee of Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) on Friday visited the Press Club of Kolkata and interacted with the members and journalists.
The visiting team of the Sikkim press club held a meeting with the Kolkata Press Club executive members wherein the latter decided to support PCS with all kinds of skill upgradation, academic enhancement and other technical support for development of journalism in Sikkim.
Press Club Kolkata president Snehasis Sur and PCS president Joseph Lepcha also exchanged mementoes on the occasion.
The meeting was also attended by Pradip Kumar Chaudhary, founder and general secretary of Poets Foundation, Buddhadeb Sengupta, executive member and PCS executive members, a PCS release stated.
The meeting also decided that PCS will soon organize an interactive programme regarding Sikkim’s achievements on various field including organic farming, cleanest hill station, fasted developing State and tourism potential among others.
Both the clubs have also decided to organize various kinds of workshops and symposium for the development of journalism in the coming days, it was informed.
Snehasish Sur, appreciated the initiative taken by the PCS and termed the team as ‘ambassadors of Sikkim.’
The Press Club Kolkata is the first press club to be established in the country.
