Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) president PS Golay on Sunday announced the list of nine candidates of the party for the upcoming Assembly elections in the State during a public meeting at Hee Gaon under Maneybong-Dentam in West Sikkim.
According to the list, Sangay Lepcha will contest from Yuksom-Tashiding Assembly constituency while MN Sherpa has been fielded by the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha to contest the Assembly polls from Daramdin Assembly constituency in West Sikkim.
In East Sikkim, MK Dhakal will be fielded to contest the ensuing Assembly polls from Khamdong-Singtam while sitting MLA Kunga Nima Lepcha will contest from the Shyari Assembly constituency.
The party has also decided to field RK Basnet to contest from Rangyang-Yangang and Ganesh Rai from Namchi-Singithang in South Sikkim.
In North Sikkim, Chungkipu Lepcha will get party ticket to contest from Dzongu while Sandup Lepcha will fight the Sikkim Assembly polls from Lachen-Mangan constituency.
Sitting MLA Sonam Lama will again contest the election from Sangha seat.
Addressing the media on Saturday, SKM spokesperson Jacob Khaling said following a meeting of the central executive committee of the SKM party on Friday at Jorethang, it was decided not to go for an electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and to contest the parliamentary and Assembly polls on its own.
SKM spokesperson Jacob Khaling asserted that the party will field its own candidates in all the 32 Assembly constituencies and also in the lone Lok Sabha seat.
