A meeting was conducted at the Tathagata Tsal premises to discuss plans for the upcoming visit of the 14th Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama is set to visit Rabongla, South Sikkim mid-March
The spiritual leader will give a religious sermon at Tathagata Tsal , Rabaogla, South Sikkim.
Area MLA cum Minister DD Bhutia, chaired the meeting, along with Sangter Tulku Rinpoche, Cooperation department advisor, TT Bhutia and other officials from various departments and panchayats were also present in the meeting.
An IPR release from Namchi states that along with delivering religious sermons, the Dalai Lama will also interact with people regarding various topics.
Minister Bhutia spoke about the significance of Dalai Lama’s visit to Sikkim. Addressing the officials, the minister stated that in order to peacefully host the state level function, different responsibilities have been allocated to various departments. To perform the duties smoothly the departments have been directed to work together.
He emphasized on the need to undertake strong security measures as large number of devotees are expected at Tathagata Tsal.
The Minister also updated the various panchayats to help in mobilizing the volunteers and stakeholders from Rabongla and the surrounding areas. He added that a State Level meeting would soon be held to identify and tackle various aspects of the visit.
