A delegation of the Sikkim Cricket Association (SCA) comprising district and central body executives called on State Chief Minister Pawan Chamling at Mintokgang in Gangtok on Wednesday.
The SCA delegation led by its president Lobzang Tenzing apprised the Chief Minister of the several initiatives taken by the SCA since January 2016 and thanked the Chief Minister for granting lease of Mining Cricket Ground near Rangpo since 2002.

The SCA apprised the Chief Minister of SCA getting full membership of BCCI since this August and being included in 14 premium domestic tournaments and the benefits that follow. It was informed that the players and support staff would be getting professional fees amounting to Rs 6.5 crore approximately this coming season.
It was also informed that the BCCI has recently sanctioned funds for developing Mining Cricket Ground.
It was the historic moment for all the cricket lovers of Sikkim that the Mining Cricket Ground lease will now be extended for next 40 years, stated the SCA in the press statement.
The Chief Minister assured to extend all support for developing cricket in Sikkim.
Chamling was visibly happy with the activities of SCA in development and promotion of cricket in Sikkim, added the SCA press release.
During this meet, the Chief Minister also launched the official website of Sikkim Cricket Association – www.sikkimcricket.com.
