Siang Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Takuk visited the Kebang Secondary School (KSS) in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

Notably, Kebang Secondary School has been chosen as the model residential school under the Chief Minister’s Adhunik Patshala Yojana.

The objective of the Deputy Commissioner’s visit was to review the position of the school as a model residential school and also to garner first-hand knowledge about the functioning and requirements of the school, an official release stated.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged teachers and parents to cooperate and work together in order to make the Kebang Secondary School a model school in the true sense.

He informed that he would conduct regular inspections to the school, and also gave assurance for immediate arrangement of utensils, furniture, boards etc and any other necessary requirements for the boarding school.

Project Director of District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA), Tajing Jonnom, gave an overview on the Chief Minister’s Adhunik Patshala Yojana, including the technical specifications and importance of the scheme.

The deputy director of School Education, Tanyang Tatak informed that the tests for selection of the students to be covered under the scheme had been done and the enrolment process was also completed.

The parents and public placed numerous requirements for the school before the visiting team.

Among others, school teachers, students and host of government officials were present on the occasion, the release added.
