In the midst of ongoing TR Zeliang Government toppling game, NPF president Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Friday revoked suspension and expulsions orders against 33 NPF legislators, including Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio, with immediate effect.
In an order, Shürhozelie informed suspension and expulsions orders against these legislators have been revoked on the recommendation of the disciplinary action committee of the party and in exercise of the powers conferred on him vide article V, clause 5 read with clause 10 of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) constitution. The disciplinary action committee recommended revocation of the suspension and expulsion orders as the reconciliation process has taken place and the NPF general convention was also held successfully on November 22 as per the directive of the Election Commission of India.

The order stated that these legislators were either suspended or expelled from NPF after they created a crisis through defection which culminated in the dismissal of the NPF Government on July 19, 2017.
The two NPF working presidents authorized by the party president had expelled 19 NPF legislators, including TR Zeliang, on the recommendation of the disciplinary action committee and also suspended 11 NPF legislators for anti-party activities on July 21, 2017.
One more legislator was placed under suspension on July 25, 2017 while lone Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio was suspended on August 1, 2017.
