Shillong Lajong U-13 Academy boys registered their third consecutive win in the U-13 Youth League play-off round after defeating Anantapur Sports Academy by 8-0 on Thursday in Kolkata.

Batskhemlang scored 6 goals, Hamedamanbha and Meshanskhem netted one goal each.

Shillong Lajong Junior Reds have advanced to the final round of the tournament after topping the Group B table with 9 points from 3 games. Aizawl FC with 6 points in three matches secured second position in the Group B table.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) launched U-13 I-league to bridge the age gap within the professional Indian football hierarchy.

The main objective is to increase the number of players between the age bracket of 15-17 in the I-league. This will create a legitimate channel for youngsters to streamline their talent.
