Leftist student organization Students’ Federation of India (SFI) took out a protest demonstration against the sensational murder of a minor boy on Wednesday in Agartala.
Wearing black ribbon on their head, the SFI volunteers took out the protest rally through the main thoroughfares of Agartala denouncing the brutal murder of the 11 years old minor boy and also the suicide by a class XII girl relating to a humiliation at Big Bazaar.
Alleging the failure of the new BJP-IPFT alliance state government for the deteriorating law and order situation in Tripura, the protesters led by state SFI general secretary Nabarun Deb demanded for immediate arrest of the culprits in both the cases.
It may be recalled that a bright and promising student, Lahari Debbarma Lahari, of class XII Commerce in Auxilium Girls’ School, was harassed on May 24 last by the Big Bazaar authorities allegedly over shoplifting of some items, which her mother denied.
Later, the girl committed suicide unable to bear the humiliation.
