Seven more legislators, including six Independents and one from ruling NPF,  have resigned from Nagaland Assembly on Monday.

The MLAs who have resigned from the Assembly are Er Levi Rengma (Tsemenyu Assembly constituency), S Chuba (Angetyongpang Assembly constituency) , Amenba Yaden (Tuli Assembly constituency), YM Yollow (Wakching Assembly constituency), Toyang Changkong Chang (Tuensang Sadar I Assembly constituency) and Er. Picto Shohe (Atoizu Assembly constituency), all Independents and G Kaito Aye from National People’s Front (NPF) from Satakha Assembly constituency.

Nagaland Assembly Speaker Dr Imtiwapang Aier has accepted all the resignations and declared the seats vacant.

So far, 25 MLAs, 17 from NPF and eight Independents, resigned from the membership of the Assembly, reducing the strength of the 60-member House to 34. One seat fell vacant after the death of a legislator in December last year.
