Sensation prevailed at Tamulpur in Baksa district of Assam, after an unidentified body was recovered on Saturday at Dwarkuchi on 127 (D) Rangia-Bhutan international link road.
Locals first spotted the body lying on the roadside at Dwarkuchi and informed the Tamulpur police.
After getting information, a police team led by Rajen Boro, in charge of Gandhibari police out post rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The body bore injury marks on his face and head.
Police suspect that some miscreants must have killed him in another place and escaped after dumping the body in the area.
Later, Upen Sarma, officer in charge of Tamulpur police station also visited the spot and started investigation.
However, there is no clue about the identity of the body or the cause of the murder.
According to preliminary investigation, the body is believed to be of a man of around 40 to 42 years of age.
Meanwhile, police have sent the body for post mortem.
