Arunachal Pradesh director general of police (DGP) RP Upadhyay on Saturday said that the present government led by chief minister Pema Khandu is committed to modernize and equip the security forces with the top of the class facilities.

The DGP, who was here to inspect the newly constructed Commandant Office (headquarters) of the 5th IRBn, said that adequate steps for the welfare of the security personnel have also been taken up with a new vigor and the forces in turn, will have to pledge to uphold the sanctity and the dignity of the uniform.

The said officer is expected to be inaugurated by chief minister Pema Khandu on November.

“Give your best” the DGP said adding that the security forces must rise up to the expectations that the people of the State and the state Government has reposed on them.

“We are bound to perform our duties of maintaining law and order under the purview of rules and regulations, he said.

Stressing on proper coordination and communication to take up grievances and feedback from officers and jawans, Upadhyay asked the officers concerned to conduct monthly ‘Sampark’ (contact) meetings.

“Welfare measure and other pending services matters could be taken and addressed on time through such meetings,” the DDGP said.
