The second Ayush Yoga Centre was inaugurated by Dr Rabin Deka District Nodal Officer of Ayush at Mazbat Revebue Circle of Udalguri on Saturday. Inaugurating the yoga centre, Charan Boro, MLA of Mazbat LAC appreciated the goodwill move of the State Government to popularize the ancient Indian health practice for a longer and happier life of people.

The District Nodal Officer of Ayush outlined the importance of yoga and pranayama in everyday life. Dhriti Kumar Das, Circle Officer of Mazbat Revenue Circle, Pankaj Sabhapandit, Block Programme Officer of NHM of Mazbat mini PHC, Jitu Kishan, ex MCLA of Panchnoi Sefang constituency were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Pankaj Sabhapandit of NHM was the anchor while S Rabha, Retired Principal of Mazbat HS school chaired the meeting.

Kumud Haloi and Sulekha Basumatary, two yoga experts were assigned to impart yoga training at Mazbat Yoga Centre. Ashish Basak and Tejimala Devi, the two yoga teachers of Udalguri Yoga Centre addressed the gathering at the inaugural ceremony. The Udalguri Yoga Centre has been operational from January 4 last year. The Bhergaon Yoga Centre will be inaugurated after the Magh bihu, the District Nodal Officer of Ayush informed.

Earlier Himanta Biswa Sarma, Health and Family Welfare Minister of Assam had inaugurated the scheme of opening 100 yoga centres in the state. Three centres were allotted for the Udalguri district.
