Bharatiya Janata Party’s national secretary Ramlal alleged that the ruling Congress in Mizoram has emptied the State exchequer and doled out cash to its party members on the pretext of making economic reforms in the State.
Speaking at a political training session held in Aizawl at the Mizoram BJP’s office, Ramlal said that the new land use policy, the flagship programme of the ruling Congress in Mizoram was a “total failure as per CAG reports”.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre has been implementing programmes to eradicate poverty and corruption in India, irrespective of political party inclination. Modi’s government has been working for the poor but it is sad to see that the Congress government in Mizoram has emptied the State exchequer through NLUP and doled out crores of money injudiciously to its own party members,” said Ramlal.
The BJP secretary said that the Northeastern region was also following the saffron trend of India and that elections held recently in the region were all in favour of the BJP.
“BJP has worked for the people of India, neither for any particular religion nor a particular group of people. Charges levelled against us on religious lines are baseless. If the BJP is a non-secular party as alleged, how can we have so many Christian MLAs and MPs? the BJP secretary asked.
“For the development of the nation, irrespective of creed and class, we have adopted Sabke Sath Sabke Vikas. Every Indian is a part of the BJP government,” he added.
Ramlal will visit the Chakma Autonomous District Council in southern Mizoram before leaving for New Delhi.
